Cool Shoes or Should I Say Boots?

Having a black and white wedding? Looking for something that's a little offbeat to wear under your wedding gown? Try these boots by Vaike Haas of uku2. Vaike is an Etsy artisan who makes special boots for special occasions or even everyday wear.

While you certainly won't wear dyable silk shoes after your wedding, these boots can be added to your casual wardrobe after your wedding. While these aren't for every bride, the bride with a sense of adventure will enjoy wearing these down the aisle--not to mention they'll make fabulous pics!

Double Duty Bouquet in Black and White

From Style Me Pretty Photographer Amanda Wilcher

Simple enough to put together yourself, this wedding bouquet turned centerpiece does double duty. Not only double duty as a bouquet and centerpiece, but two colors, black and white. Perfect for the bride planning a black and white wedding reception.

Add it to a black and white lace sash or a dress with black trim. The lace gives the ensemble a pulled together look but one that has the look of handmade.

Add a tag with a table number to let it do double duty as a centerpiece and table number. Love black and white weddings! Chic but so easy! No angst over colors--choose two and and an accent.

Black and White Empire Waist Wedding Gown

The perfect black and white design. I love the way the bottom looks with the black design near the hem! And the bow at the waistline sets off the empire look waist. I go back and forth over whether I love or hate black and white weddings, some days I think they are the only way to go, others...not so much. What do you think? Would you go black and white? Or are you looking for some more color?

Isacc Mizrahi's Tea Length Wedding Gowns

At Bridal Fashion Week Isacc Mizrahi showed two knock out black and white tea length gowns for 2013. He showed his longer lengths as well, but these tea length gowns look so chic and have a modern yet retro look.  Does that make any sense to you? Probably not!

The one above is my favorite, but it was a hard decision to make! I love the way they are so feminine yet sleek. No frou frou veils, just slicked back hair, clean and modern, yet with a tea length look that reminds me of playing dress up in old gowns that belonged to my mother!

Mizrahi has a real eye for bridal wear and he always designs dresses that catch your eye and are feminine and elegant.

Black Lace Votives

Looking for a simple DIY project? This one is easy. A little glue, votive holders, some battery powered votives (you can use the real thing is you want to). This is so easy! Anyone can do it!

Just choose some lace that's wider than the candle holder to give it height! You don't have to stick to black lace, just choose a color to compliment your wedding.

Bow Tie Wedding Cake

If you're planning a black and white wedding, this 'zebra cake' is perfect! Per Wedding Path "Give your reception a touch of vintage chic with Eric Lanlard's 1950s Glamour Cake from his new book published by Hamlyn. Follow the step-by-step instructions, but allow plenty of time to practise chocolate rolling."  It's elegant with more than a touch of class!

Black and Blush?

Source: etsy.com via Linda on Pinterest

This black and blush birdcage is perfect for your wedding cards! Love the way it's decorated with blush silk flowers. While not a classic pure black and white, it is a great way to add a light color accent at a black and white wedding.

However, it's an Etsy find, which means easy come, easy go, they disappear as fast as someone makes them. So use it to inspire you to make your own if it's not still available or you can contact the original artist to see if they can make another one that's similar to their original.

Black & White Vintage Bridesmaid Dress

Found on Linda Thayer's Pinterest Board...this vintage bridesmaid dress is perfect for the bride planning a black and white wedding!

Love the vintage look! This may be an actual vintage dress so you may need a dressmaker for this one.

If someone finds it for sale online, let me know, would love to post a point of purchase for my readers!

Bow Tie Napkins

Fold your napkins in a Bow Tie fold for a formal evening wedding.  Perfect for when you and your guests are tuxedo clad and puttin' on the Ritz! Love the look on this table!  Just remember, if  you're going with tables that only seat four instead of eight or ten you're centerpiece costs will escalate. The centerpieces may be smaller, but the more of them you have the pricier they will be.

The Finishing Touch For A Black and White Wedding

Erika of Chloe's Nails did this gorgeous manicure.  Edgy, but elegant. Matte but chic. To see how she accomplished this look head to Chloe's Nails, (which is actually Erika's website, I know, confusing) but it's named for her daughter.  Erika used an OPI matte polish called "Lincoln Park After Dark Matte" edged with Seche Vite to make them extra extra shiny.  And to make it look extra elegant.  (All the nail sites recommend buying your Seche Vite at Sally's for the best prices.)

There aren't many days I regret my advancing years, but this is one of them. I WANT those nails! Alas, they won't work for me, but for my younger counterparts, have fun with the look! And if you're looking for info on Seche Vite YouTube has some great videos on how to use it.  It's worth it to take the time to watch the videos to get the down low on how to apply Seche Vite properly.

Thank you Erika! I'll be back to your site, hoping for an edgy nail design for a fifty something year old! Or maybe I'll risk the black... on a day I feel really young.

DIY Black and White Wedding

Photo credit: The Bridal Cafe Bethany and Dylan's Wedding

Go black and white in a big way at your wedding! This tented area acts as a backdrop for this bride and groom's wedding ceremony.  The bride's mother made a black and white aisle runner with a red sequin heart and the bride and groom's initials.

For centerpieces the mother of the bride collected milk glass vases and they filled them with candles! Such a pretty result!

The shorter vases held single flower buds.  The taller held white tapers.  And later as it gets darker inside the tent....

A black and white wedding offers a variety of options for decorating.  Visit Events To A T to see more ideas.
